Summer music festivals are the focus of many acoustic singer-songwriters, bands and musicians of all kinds. They’re the reason that many will finally get to hit the road again this year.
Similarly, I’ve been travelling around the UK to my favourite festivals, making use of the good weather. Here are a few highlights so far:
Knutsford Music Festival
Official website
I was recently asked by BBC Radio 2’s Mark Radcliffe to perform on the closing night of Knutsford Music Festival. The Sunday line-up originally featured Hope & Social as the headliner, however, Gary Stewart’s Graceland stepped in when the band couldn’t attend. It was a fantastic evening with an audience still full of enthusiasm from a weekend of music featuring: Kate Rusby, Zervas and Pepper, Fine Lines and The Goldrick Sisters. I even got my own dressing room with a piano!…

Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival
I was honoured to be asked to close the Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival in June. Maybe I should be getting the hint that people want to leave after my performance?…
I performed on a fantastic line-up with John Martyn Project as the main headliners. We closed the lead acoustic stage of the FAB fest in true acoustic fashion on 19th June 2022.
Like the ever-prepared person that I am, I only managed to take a picture of the stage before anyone had played. So please enjoy that…

Llangollen Fringe
I was so pleased to be asked back to Llangollen Fringe in Wales this year. I had the great privilege of getting to support The Washboard Resonators on the opening night at Gales of Llangollen. They were fantastic and so were the audience! The whole team put on a great event which was just day one of their ten day festival. We danced the night away listening to 1930s and 40s, toe-tapping, thigh slapping songs…

Summer Music Festivals
These Summer music festivals were just three highlights of a busy Summer which has so far included Alsager Music Festival, Morecambe Festival and many more to come.
