I’m very excited to unveil my brand new studio-recorded song!
‘It’s Cold Outside Today’ is a folk-influenced song about climate change. Climate action is something I’ve been passionate about for many years. Of course it still contains my usual helping of tongue-in-cheek, sarcastic lyrics as I take on the incredibly watertight logic of climate change deniers…
This news and weather parody video was recorded entirely from my home this January. I teamed up with my frequent collaborator Andrew Glassford for the studio track. It’s a much more DIY approach than many of my previous music videos but that made it all the more rewarding to reach this point.
This song has already so far been endorsed and supported by Climate Emergency Manchester and Manchester Museum.
I performed it live for an Extinction Rebellion protest in September 2020 – which was one of my very first outings with this song (talk about a baptism by fire!). Luckily everyone there seemed to really enjoy it.
This song is the tenth stand alone single that I’ve released and is the tenth music video to hit my Youtube channel. I can’t thank you enough for all the support over the years but I will have a more detailed post about that coming soon.
If you’d like to hear how this song is performed live then you’re in luck!
I recently broadcast one of my rare live streams on Facebook, you can follow this link to listen.
Until next time, stay safe everyone and I hope that this year will give us musicians a better chance to tour again. I have plans to record and release some new material this Spring/Summer.
More news coming soon.
