Sir Ian McKellen and Chris Tavener star in a new short film.
Made for the benefit of Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital
I am extremely excited to present: The Meteor and The Moon. My collaboration with Sir Ian McKellen and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
I was asked to write a song based on ideas from children at the hospital,
which would go on to be animated into a truly stunning animation film.
I also ended up starring alongside Sir Ian.
It’s been the great honour of my music career so far.

Wait, when did this happen?!
It started in August 2018, when I was contacted by Alexander Bodin Saphir of Breaking Productions. He told me he was the author in residence at Great Ormond Street Hospital and wanted a comedy song written for a film starring Sir Ian McKellen and James Corden. I nearly fell off my chair…
He said he’d heard my album and would like me to try writing for him.
An anxious month of writing and waiting passed before my song was finally
selected from a group of musicians. I met Beorn Leonard and Sarah Feldlaufer who would animate our new production and we set to work.
More than a year later, Corden had stepped down from the project, CBBC
had turned down the chance to screen it and in desperation, they offered me the role of the meteor (charming!). However, joking aside, I’m delighted
to have been a part of this wonderful film for a very charitable cause.
Hopefully it’s the start of even greater things!
